Al Urbain Construction Management, Inc.

Al Urbain Construction Management, Inc. (formerly known as Allen & Urbain Architects & Construction Managers) has been assisting clients in their construction needs since 1973.

We remain a small firm dedicated to giving the personalized service of the owner on every project. Our firm brings together expertise in commercial, municipal, industrial, institutional and residential projects. Projects have involved the coordination of complicated material handling systems; "super-flat floor systems"; sophisticated communications systems for satellite and fiber optics; highly computerized operations; flexibility that requires fostering the use of "cell manufacturing"; and use of a "clean room" required to filter out airborne contaminants. Along with this expertise is a dedication to excellence in the process of cost control and construction.

You will find our cost estimating is surpassed by none and designed to provide the owner with a surprise free project. The first key to a successful project is the development of a project schedule and budget from the onset. The schedule should present milestones along the path assuring the work is proceeding as intended. Each milestone should present the opportunity to review the budget, project scope and issues. The budget must be realistic, comprehensive and detailed. Through our Construction Management experience we have compiled a cost estimating database from which we can accurately predict building costs early in the design process.

The key to our firm’s success and one of the most important qualities, is our history to repeat clients. To us, this demonstrates the faith our clients have in our professional abilities. We have had, and continue to have, such relationships with the McGraw-Hill Companies, Quebecor World, the Dubuque Community School District and Luksetich / Spahn Development, all of Dubuque; RC2, Racing Champions (formerly the Ertl Company), in Dyersville, Iowa; and Captive Plastics and Bodine Electric, both in Peosta, Iowa.
